As music is a Performing art, the opportunity for public performance is invaluable for our students. But finding those opportunities can prove difficult for a solo instrumentalist. Our school is very proud to be able to provide many yearly opportunities for public performance through our Recitals, Masterclasses, MTNA/CAPMT Evaluations, Group Make-up Lessons, and Recording Studio Field Trip.
Are held twice yearly. Adults are not required to participate, however all children are. Recitals are preceded by peer-group Masterclasses which serve to take the trepidation out of performance and create a fun and relaxed environment for recitals.
As music is a Performing Art, the opportunity for public performance is tantamount to the curriculum for all young and advanced pianists. Masterclass is a time-honored tradition in study of the performing arts, which provides this opportunity for the benefit and enhancement of all students’ education and musical development. Master class is always held one week prior to recital as performance preparation.
As a member of the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) and local affiliate California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT) our students are eligible to participate in annual proficiency evaluations and certificates in performance, theory and harmony. Participation is not mandatory, but encouraged and evaluations are held every June.
