2021 SummerFest Music Camps
Week-long music camps for the Curious, Emerging and Advanced musician. Grades 3-9. All levels of proficiency are welcome!
Packed, fun, social days of tailored music instruction and mentoring, where visiting symphonic artists immerse campers with all instruments of the orchestra. Daily workshops in singing, choir, composition, music theory, notation, and sight-reading. World and Art History is discovered through the music of classical, pop, jazz and world sounds. Campers are paired according to their level; instructor to camper ratio is 1:9.
Advanced musicians receive tailored instruction (masterclasses) and mentoring in musicianship and performance from visiting professional symphonic artists. Experienced players will be able to return to private lessons at an improved level of sight-reading and musicianship. Younger and non-musicians can also discover which instrument inspires them before the next school year: Strings, Brass, Percussion, Keyboard, Woodwinds!

Each Camp Day Includes:
- Visiting symphonic artists show & tell, plus master class teaching for advanced players
- Choir, singing & learning how to read and write music
- Music Theory & Musicianship per the curriculum of the MTNA (Music Teachers National Association)
- Exploring world history & geography through the music & instruments of the times
- Advanced musicianship and sight-reading for advanced players
- Composition & group songwriting available

General Information:
All camps are held from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. Grades 3-9, extended-day option available. The cost per session is $345. Siblings receive a $40 discount for a total cost of $305 per additional child. Full and sliding-scale scholarships available.
Our camp is designed and led by professional symphonic artists and 30-year veteran educators Laurie Robinson & Maestro Emmanuel Fratianni, Founders of the Southern California Piano Academy. Instructors are professional working musicians. Camp assistants are trained college music majors: Camper ratio is 1:9
